Arizona Animal Welfare League

The Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA strives to take a leadership role in
promoting humane values for the benefit of all animals and people.  In 2002, we
began our education programs for kids and teens. Since then, we have reached out
to more than 4000 children, addressing responsible pet ownership and raising the
awareness of animal issues in our community and how children can be a part of the
solution now and in the future.

Arizona Foundation for Resource Education

The Arizona Foundation for Resource Education (AFRE) promotes environmental
and economic literacy through natural resource education. Online resources for K-
12 educators include recommended readings about natural resources, best
practices and leadership plus downloadable tools to help teachers employ cutting-
edge, research-based instructional strategies and models such as curriculum
mapping and Understanding by Design (UbD).

Audubon Arizona

Audubon Arizona is a state leader in conservation. Each year more than 1 million
people of all ages visit Audubon Centers and Sanctuaries. Each Center is a vital
community resource devoted to preserving wildlife and habitat and nurturing the
spirit of conservation.

Chandler Environmental Education Center

Chandler's EEC has four classrooms, exhibit areas, public restrooms, a gift shop,
and staff offices. The EEC works with local teachers and school groups to pursue
nature-oriented activities that will complement the overall school curriculum of
science, math, reading, writing, art and music.

Desert Botanical Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden’s educational programming for children, adults and
educators promote greater enjoyment, understanding and stewardship of the
Sonoran Desert.  Place-based opportunities for preschoolers, in-depth camps and
service-learning teen programs are offered as wonderful resources to stimulate a
connection to nature and discovery of the world we live in.   Our uniquely designed
curriculum for students blends hands-on, inquiry-based learning with a dose of fun
and is specifically designed to complement and correlate educational objectives and
Arizona Academic Standards. Our innovative programs for adults include
workshops, hikes, trips and certification classes, including our Botanical Art and
Illustration School.

Willow Bend is a nonprofit environmental education center sponsored by the
Coconino Natural Resource Conservation District. We are dedicated to nurturing a
sense of place through hands-on education programs. Our mission is to provide
education outreach services that build environmental awareness and an ethic of
responsible stewardship of our natural and cultural resources.
